BU has recently approved proposals for the next phase of its estate investment plan providing capital funding to 2025. We plan to invest in a diverse programme of projects principally covering refurbishment, remodelling, planned maintenance and carbon reduction investments.

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager who is a motivated and experienced individual with the capacity to lead, co-ordinate and manage construction and refurbishment projects.  The role will involve establishing budgets and project programmes, financial control, stakeholder engagement and communication, appointing and managing consultants and contractors, overseeing the delivery of works and producing regular management information, performance data and written reports.

Essentials are a relevant first degree or a level of experience commensurate with the role together with a relevant professional membership (RICS, RIBA, APM, CIOB) or post-graduate qualification.  Significant experience gained in a wide ranging project management role working on multiple and complex projects is vital.

We would also consider appointment at Project Manager level for someone looking to develop their skills and experience to support the Estates Development programme. Skills key to this role include effective planning, communication with a range of stakeholders, monitoring budgets and prioritising workload.  The role will involve co-ordinating a range of activities from specifications and procurement through to delivery, installation, commissioning & occupation of refurbishment works.

A proven track record of delivering multiple projects to deadlines is essential for this role. 

This position is available on a fixed-term basis for up to 24 months.
